Train the Trainer

Lack of a local supervisor for the workplace-based teaching and supervision of FEES practical endoscopy and the assessor roles severely limits the progress of the trainee FEES practitioner. Often, a suitably experienced local clinician is unwilling to commit to supervision because of lack of resources or a clear road map to the acquisition of competence. This session provides the local supervisor with the skills and resources to design and deliver short, structured, supervised learning events and conduct formative and summative assessment so that they are confident in the trainee’s skills and knowledge and therefore able to sign off their portfolio of evidence.
